Almond Brownies Kedut yang simple dan sedap!

Assalamualaikum..

I have baked this brownies for several times (4 times haha) and people love it, especially my husband. I am going to bake this brownies again tonight for Fahri's Little Caliphs final school day session tomorrow. I got the recipe from FB but I have modified a bit of the ingredients accordingly to my kind of flavor ;) Thus, let me share the recipe with you. Happy baking!

So, here are the ingredients:


230gm dark chocolate (any brands)
150gm castor sugar
85gm butter
85gm wheat flour 
23gm cocoa powder
1ts of baking powder
2 eggs
1ts of vanilla essence
1/2 cup of almond powder
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of chopped almonds

Steps:

1. Double-boil the butter together with dark chocolate and place it aside for a while.
2. In a separate bowl, sieve the flour together with the baking powder. Then, sieve the cocoa powder in the same bowl.
3. Beat the eggs together with castor sugar by using a mixer.
4. Mix together the dark chocolate batter with the eggs batter by using a large spoon.
5. Pour in the flour (cocoa powder + wheat flour + baking powder) into the chocolate mixture followed by the vanilla essence.
6. Stir in the chocolate chips and almond powder.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with the chopped almond on top of it.
8. Preheat the oven to 160c for 10 minutes. Cut a piece of parchment paper or wax paper to hang over 2 sides of the pan and grease it with butter.
9. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the brownies comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
10. Remove to a rack to cool it, and then cut into squares.

Bonanza Sushi King at SACC Mall with kesayangans

Assalamualaikum..

Once in a while, escaping from hectic workload in office and setting a date with girlfriends yang satu kepala would be a great therapy to get some fresh air, if you know what I mean. Besides my wonderful colleagues at work, my girlfriends since ages are my panadols to keep me sane ;)

Last week, my sayang Nadia had informed us through our group chat about Sushi King was having it's promotion- Bonanza deals RM3 for each sushi plate. Woo wee. Well, I am not really a die hard fan of sushi but once in month ok la.... hihi. So, we set a date during lunch hour. Luckily when we arrived, there were not so many people. This was my first time eating at Sushi King. Usually, I had my sushi at Sakae Sushi and I do not know how to tell the differences haha. Both are fine with me as long as the company is good.

I've known Bayne since 2002 as a coursemate doing our degree in TESL. However, we became the closest when we worked together at UiTM Seri Iskandar, Perak as full time/ part time lecturer. Then, she also joined me teaching in MSU. We are best buddy till now. While Nadia, I knew her when I actually interviewed her for an English lecturer in MSU. She was my dedicated lecturer and part of English team that I love so much. Huhu rindunya :( . Now, Bayne and I have left the Uni for good but our friendship will always grow strong. InsyaAllah.

After having our sushi, we went up to Level 3 and while looking for a washroom, taraaa we found this! A giant wall poster at the corner of a furniture shop. Then, si poser ni pun dapat idea "Korang... jom amik gambar kat sini... feeling feeling macam laman seni arrr hahaha" So... these were the outcomes ;p

Weekend Outing at Subang Parade

Kami ni kan... kalau boleh, every weekend tu mesti nak keluar. Jenis tak reti duduk umah punya manusia. Unless, ada interesting project macam deco rumah ke atau ada family nak datang stay over. Sebab anak-anak memang suka berjalan, well... all kids do.. but.. of course lah perangai suka berjalan Fahri Naeem tu datangnya dari mama and papa nya hehe. Luckily, both my husband and I share the same interest, we love outing, exploring new places and taking pictures! I still remember, during our wedding photo shoot, be it indoor or outdoor, we never failed to amaze our hired photographer dengan perangai poser kami ni hahaha... I still could recall my photographer's comment on our wedding photo shoot, "Aku rasa dalam banyak-banyak wedding photoshoot, korang lah pengantin paling sporting and senang nak bagi kerjasama untuk pose. Tak payah nak suruh and ajar sangat nak pose macam mana" hahaha.. Epul and I were burst into laughter hearing that. 

Tapi tak sangka pulak anak-anak bujang kami bukan main susah nak ambil gambar. Dua-duanya tak suka gambar diambil. Kadang-kadang memang hilang mood jugak tapi kami tak pernah give up sebab pada kami, masa yang berlalu ni sangat pantas. Jadi , the memories must be captured and kept. So, knowing that both boys do not like their picture being taken, we have two methods capturing their pictures; give them reward / promise them a reward OR do not tell them that we are going to snap a picture, just distract them to some points and snap! Gigih kan?

Jadi, last weekend we went to Subang Parade je la sebab Epul nak beli kettlebell nya. I olls pun baru tahu apa benda la kettlebell ni. Sejenis alat senaman. Macam dumbbell la tapi kettlebell ni lagi heavy and it works for most parts of the body. Sambil jalan-jalan cari kettlebell, sambil pose. Tak payah susah2 pergi jauh2 and spend that much.. jalan2 macam ni pun dah buat my kids happy. 

 Sampai2 I dah buat perangai.. "Abang, macam cantik je background hitam ni jom ambil gambar!" Hubbyku ikut je haha.. Testing one two three...
 Walaupun anak2 mama tak pandang camera tapi mama puas hati sebab gambar ni at least tak gegarrrrrr ;p

 Next, hubby nak hantar repair jam kat Empire Gallery, so lalu stairs ni, I said "Abang, jom ambil gambar budak2 ni kat tangga ni... mesti cantik" Hubbyku pun ok je haha sabar je
Duduk elok pulak ye? haa.. ni I bagi idea konon2 hubby nak betulkan shoes diorang...pastu lari jap hahaha gigihhhh
 Dapatla jugak hasilnya... Actually, memang ada lah some people around yang tanya if they were twins. I just smile and say "Nope lah. The elder one is five and the young one is three. But sizenya lebih kurang just that the abang is taller" Sebabnya memang I suka pakaikan diorang baju sama sebab firstly tak pening kepala nak pikir sorang2 baju apa nak pakai, secondly they look cute when wearing the same style and thirdly their looks are dissimilar, thus wearing the same outfit will definitely make them look like they come from the same womb lolz ;p

My parents' 35th Anniversary and welcoming the first baby girl!

Assalamualaikum wbt..

My parents headed down to Sri Damansara (my bro's house) and Klang (my house) last week. Usually, when they are in town, their schedule is full with lots of activities since my aunt who lives in Kota Damansara loves to arrange a meet up. I am actually so jealous seeing how my parents and my aunties (the other aunty lives in Sri Gombak) are spending their time together. I guess that's the beautiful thing about being retired haha...  

Actually, the main reason my parents came down here because we just welcomed our first baby girl in the family! My sister in law has safely delivered her first daughter which marked the first grand daughter in the family. Everyone is so excited because finally after 4 grandsons (who have deep passion toward Ultraman, their hobbies were jumping, climbing and action fighting ;p), now we can throw a Barbie party! yeayyy hahha I am so happy for my brother and also for my parents. 

And the sweetest part was our baby darling was born on my parents' 35th wedding anniversary. What a beautiful day to be remembered! I have planned with my sister to celebrate my parents' anniversary on Saturday, a day later than the actual anniversary date (30.10.2015) and I planned to treat them at a steamboat restaurant. However, my mom kept mentioning that my dad wanted to eat Nasi Lemak Murni Discovery. I used to bring them to USJ Murni Discovery last year and my dad kept talking about how tasty the food were, since then. So, I had changed plan, from a steamboat to unique meals in USJ Murni Discovery in USJ9 Taipan. I bought a cake a day earlier, kept it in my refrigerator and before heading to a friend's wedding in Puchong, we stopped by at Murni and I made a reservation as well as asked the staff to place my cake into their fridge. So, the plan was, after my friend's wedding reception, I would be headed to my SIL's mother's house to meet our little baby girl. Then, proceed with the plan at Murni.

Then, we headed to Murni Discovery with my parents and sister. Yeayy, they were sleeping over at my house for two nights!
 For the drinks, we ordered I Love You and Ribena Laici Special.. the best!
 We ordered Nasi Lemak Murni Discovery, Roti Seafood, Naan Cheese Beckham, Nasi Goreng Beckham and Mix Grill.

Berat Badan Ideal

Assalamualaikum..

Dari zaman anak dara sampai lah sekarang dah ada anak dua ni, Alhamdulillah paling berat badan aku pernah achieve adalah 56 kg. Kalau time pregnant tak payah cerita la kan. Tinggi aku 157 cm. Aku memang syukur bab ni tapi selain Allah swt memang anugerahkan aku pinjaman yang satu ni, but things never come in easy ways. Of course la aku jaga makan. Aku tak pernah hafal aku punya BMI berapa. What is my ideal body weight? Tapi macam mana aku tetapkan border line aku untuk jaga makan?

Hehe... tak tau lah cara ni ok ke tak. Tapi aku selalu nya akan reflect kenaikan / penurunan ketembaman aku based on gambar aku. Dan yang aku perasan, aku akan nampak just nice dalam gambar (not too skinny and not too bam bam) if berat aku dalam range 51-52 kg. So kalau aku perasan dalam gambar, bahu, lengan and perut macam menonjol..haaa tu mesti berat aku dah naik jadi around 54-55 kg. And bila aku pijak weight scale tu...memang tepat sekali... 54 kg haha. So guys, kalau korang tanya macam mana kak ton ni kurus (sebenarnya tak kurus pun, aku suka pakai baju loose sikit), this is how I monitor my body weight. Jadinya, bila dah achieve tahap bam bam aku ni, ada few ways yang aku amalkan untuk make sure berat aku takkan lebih dari 56 kg (sebab pada aku, once aku dah melebihi 56 kg, it will be really hard for me to tone down my weight. I have experienced this during my confinement period. Nak turun dari 57 kg ke 56 kg pun ya Allah... amik masa berminggu2 padahal aku jaga sangat makan n kurangkan tidur.) Antara methods yang I have and still practise adalah:

1- Puasa. Kalau puasa ganti dah habis, aku akan puasa sunat. Tapi niat tu jangan lah nak kurus. Niatlah untuk berpuasa sunat. Berdoa kalau dapat kuruskan badan, then it's a bonus. Dan kalau puasa time bukan bulan puasa ni, usually aku tak sahur pun. Just aku makan la malam sebelum tu dalam amount yang secukupnya. And kalau pun aku sahur, aku just minum air milo panas.

2. Tak makan nasi. Kalau kawan2 aku pergi restaurant nasi dengan lauk2 tu, aku just amik lauk la. Tak kisahla kalau ada yang cakap "amboihhh... baik tak payah makan". Suka hati la kan. Badan kita hehe. Tapi yang ni aku just buat sehari atau dua hari sampai berat aku turun ke 53 kg. Ada jugak time kalau aku rasa nak turun cepat, aku memang tak amik nasi langsung , aku just makan buah2 je time lunch.

3. Bila dah turun 53 kg, aku akan amik nasi tapi dalam satu senduk atau setengah senduk sehari dengan lauk2 yang banyak. Yang ni aku practice dalam 2 to 3 days sampai berat aku turun balik jadi 51 kg.

So, basically dengan cara yang aku praktikkan ni, Alhamdulillah sometimes aku dapat turun 3-4 kg within 5 days. Biasa aku buat macam ni bila the following weekend tu ada event and rasa nak melaram ke (sebab nak amik gambar banyak2 kan hahah). Kalau tak, aku relax and chill sikit la. Pastu bila event dah habis...aku makan macam biasa balik hahah. Dengan cara ni, aku rasa tak stress sebab aku tetap dapat makan sedap2 Alhamdulillah. Aku just monitor and limit my food intake bila berat dah naik. Kalau rasa nak cuba cara ni, cubalah ;)

And of course, aku suka zumba. Sekarang aku dah tak join class, aku buat sendiri je kat rumah. Alaa... download jer dari you tube... search for "Light Zumba" for a start. Berpeluh beb! tapi tak de la aku wat hari2. Aku buat bila aku rasa badan aku macam dah lembik. Once in a week should be ok. Good luck peeps!
